Alternate backgrounds for Serene
To demonstrate the ease of Serene customization, I’m going to release an alternate backgrounds pack in a few days. It will contain different sets of images to replace the default and a bit of minor CSS tweaks for each set (like adjusting link colors to fit the background theme).
Take a peek at the preview of one of the sets to understand what I mean.
Welcome to Textpattern Serene template demo
TXP Serene is a Textpattern template, designed for maximum accessibility and convenience for the reader. It’s a part of Textplates, a Textpattern templates contest.
It features an elastic layout, a variable number of columns in the sidebar that depends on resolution and font size, valid and semantic XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS code, Archive and Contact pages, ease of customization and much more. Enjoy!

Development status
OK, for now the basic functionality of the template seems to work fine (except unstyled comments). But there’s still so much more to do (see below)! Hope I’ll manage that in 2 remaining days of the contest.
