There has been a collective failure to address the rise in mental health issues in almost every country in the world, that is according to a report published in the Lancet medical journal. Today is World Mental Health Awareness Day. The report suggests that more than a billion people are affected by mental health disorders worldwide.
They warn that in many countries people routinely face abuse or detention for mental health issues and few get the full support they need. Now to discuss this further, we are now joined in studio by the Chairperson of the Psychiatry Management Group, Dr. Sebolelo Seape.
