He is preparing to debut on Love Island Australia on Sunday. But behind his confident persona and self-proclaimed womanising ways, Eden Dally carries with him the trauma of a terrible tragedy. In 2015, the 25 year-old prison officer courageously tried to save a man from drowning on the NSW Central Coast.Sadly, the man later died in hospital. Sunbathing with friends at Avoca Beach, Eden bravely charged into the waves to help the 26 year-old swimmer caught in a rip.Speaking the Daily Telegraph after the tragic accident, Dally recalled the moments leading up to his brave rescue attempt.   'I looked toward the direction they were pointing and saw a man going under the water and struggling to stay afloat,' Eden said.Without concern for his own safety, he grabbed his surfboard and rushed into the water but could not find the man.Eden eventually found himself caught in the same dangerous rip and separated from his surfboard.'I managed to get myself back to shore and sat there exhausted,' he added. Because of Eden's efforts, emergency services were able to pinpoint the man's location beneath the waves. The swimmer, believed to be from Nepal, had remained under water for 10 minutes and was taken hospital. But doctors were unable to save his life.Eden made headlines last week after he boasted of sleeping with 100 women. However, he also appears to be a keen animal lover and devoted to his family, in particular his 'mummah'.
