According to new demographic projections, more people in the United States will identify as Muslim than Jewish by the year 2050 — and the share of Christians will decline dramatically. The Pew Research Center study tracks the future of world religions and population growth. Research released Thursday predicts that Christians in the U.S. will drop from three-quarters of the population today to two-thirds by 2050. In 2010, Jews made up 1-point-8 percent of the U.S. population while about point 9 percent were Muslim.
