Grenfell Tower lit green with London Eye and Downing Street to mark anniversary of tragic fire. GRENFELL Tower has been lit up green to mark the first anniversary of the devastating fire that killed 72 people.

The charred block was tonight brightly illuminated 12 months after a kitchen fire in one of the flats sparked the deadly inferno.

Landmarks across the capital - including Downing Street and the London Eye - will change their lights at 12.54pm - the time the first 999 call
