House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Tuesday night that the elections will help restore "checks and balances" in the government. Democrats will lower health care costs and "clean up corruption," she said. "Republicans will only continue the toxic GOP culture of cronyism, incompetence and corruption that only grows more brazen and more destructive everyday," she told supporters at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee rally.
