Democratic candidate for Georgia governor Stacey Abrams ended her candidacy in a speech to supporters on Friday. Concluding her bid to become the nation’s first female African-American governor, Abrams acknowledged that her Republican opponent Brian Kemp will take office. However, she condemned the election process, calling out the state’s voter roll purging and suppression largely affecting African-Americans.
