Mallorca FLOODS: Six dead including Brit couple in HUGE storm - Costa del Sol on RED ALERT
AT LEAST six people have died in devastating floods in eastern Mallorca, authorities have confirmed. Rescuers are searching for several people still missing following torrential rain which has cut off the town of Sant Llorenc des Cardassar in the east of the island, the worst-affected locality. The situation has been described as “Dantesque”.

Locals sought refuge on their roofs as a torrent of water invaded the ground floor of their homes, sweeping cars out to sea.

Two of the six people confirmed as dead in the Majorca floods are believed to be British.

They have been described as a couple who were caught in a flash flood in the town of Sant LLorenc des Cardassar as they were travelling in a taxi. The taxi driver is said to be missing.
It was not immediately clear if they were tourists or expats.

Initial reports spoke of five dead, however officials have now found another body in the destruction this morning.

Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez is to travel to the Majorca disaster zone. He is expected to reach the island around 1pm local time.
