Hi,

I seem to be having trouble getting this theme to display comments. I’ve done everything as described in the installation instructions, and still can’t figure it out. If it’s not to much trouble I would appreciate some help. Otherwise, it’s a very nice skin and easy to work with and mod.

Just one comment, make the installation instructions have linebreaks, it’s annoying to have scroll over to read and scroll back.

I don’t put line breaks into the instructions as people will be viewing with different resolutions and font sizes but you should be able to turn on “word-wrap” for whichever text editor you are viewing with which should solve the problem. :)

Great job on the template!

Installation instructions were very good.

I was a little fogged figuring out the CSS-Images instructions but I finally got it (the “file.gif” and “comments.gif” information only apply to the “default” form template and not to the CSS style sheet document).

FYI…when clicking the CSS link (W3C CSS Validator) in the footer page section, there are 7 minor errors that appear.

FWIW (for what it’s worth)...in the future, you may want to have all footer links at the bottom of the page open into new browser windows.

Thanks for that Christopher. I shall check things out. When I revamped this one it was more to bring it into line with TXP 4.* so I wasn’t really checking some of the other stuff. Must get round to it. ;)

Stuart…something odd:

I uploaded the plugin zem_contact_reborn (4.0.3.17), installed it, and made an article for the contact section per the plug-in instructions.

Everything works great except for a mysterious bit of text that appears underneath the e-mail form area. The text reads:
Send me an email
“To” address is missing.

Any idea as to why this is mysteriously appearing?? Obviously it is an error—but from what?? Might that text be a remnant from the original zem_contact form (0.6)?? Very strange!

I’ve deleted the article for the contact page several times to no avail. Any suggestions?

Well you will have to forgive for not being up at that time this morning. ;)

I think you will find that it is actually an “error” message and it is telling you that you haven’t used the “to” attribute in the zem_contact tag, which means that the form doesn’t know where it is going. Check the help text for the plug-in for more details.

What? You can’t go 48-hours straight? I’m shocked!

You are correct that I’m getting an error message (sorry I didn’t point that out in my last message). I did not include the “to” attribute for zem’s 0.6 version when testing things out.

Then I decided to upgrade to 4.0.3.17 and that’s when I discovered (ah-ha moment!) that I needed to fill in the “to” attribute. Everything now works fine (I receive test e-mails) except the cottin’ pickin’ error message remains in plain view (check out my contact page).

The error code, me thinks, is stuck somewhere in the system and is desparately trying to find a way out. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Any thoughts? (when you’re awake of course!) I’m beginning to think I may have to do a partial reinstall in order to correct this snafu.

...and another thing…

Where did the text “Send me an email” on the Contact page come from in the first place? Was that verbiage used in Zem’s plugin 0.6? I haven’t used that verbiage at all. Very strange.

btw: I’ve removed 0.6 from my site, tinkered for over 1-hour in attempting to remove the error myself (no luck) as well as searched the forum for help (no luck).

Here’s something that may help the situation described above.

I did a Tag Trace and found these 3 lines scattered throughout the code on semidriven.com/contact/:
txp:zem_contact mailto=”you@yoursite.com”
txp:zem_contact to=”cpotts@myrealemailaddress.com”
txp:zem_contact mailto=”you@yoursite.com”

per your forum post (http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?pid=94805#p94805), the “mailto” feature belongs to 0.6.

Therefore, even though I have removed zem’s 0.6 version, there are still remnants of it floating around in the code.

Would you suggest deleting the TXP Gespaa Double text information (form templates, images, page templates, plug-ins) and then reinstalling them with the reborn plugin?

E-mail form for the Contact page is working properly; however, the e-mail form bumps the sidebar to the bottom of the page now. This is what I did:

..removed all e-mail plugins.
..reinstalled 0.6 plugin.
..added my email address in e-mail form (per instructions)
..reinstalled 4.0.3.17 plugin along with required lang. plugin.
..deactivated 0.6 plugin (contrary to instructions)
