TXP Cloudy Day

About TXP Cloudy Day

theDetails

I’ve ported CloudyDay to TXP which is another great style from Pat Heard at FullAhead. This is a fluid full-width style that validates to XHTML 1.0 Strict. It isn’t one of my full-blown systems and is only suitable for TXP 4.0.2 and up because of it’s use of newly introduced tags. There are About and Contact pages built-in but no form mailer is used. If you want archives I’ll leave that up to the user. Search results and category lists have been styled.

This style should be fairly easy to install for newcomers without the added burden of installing plug-ins.

templateInfo

A tableless/fluid, two column template. Most of the dimensions are defined relative to the font size, so it gracefully changes size with different resolutions and font sizes. The code is valid XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS.

Total size of the images and files of this template comes in at 20 kb, so it’s dial-up friendly. It renders consistently in the usual suspects listed below and text only works too:

pictureSupport

Images are fully supported by this template. You can display them using three custom classes (.imgLeft/.imgRight to align left/right and .imgBlock to create a center aligned set of images like the one below). The headings and subHeadings act as boundaries, so pictures won’t overflow the section that you place them in.

Enjoy the template. I left the colours neutral so it should be pretty easy to create new colour schemes. I’m always interested to see how my work is used/adapted so send me a msg with your site’s URL if you end up finding a use for the template.
