A masterpiece, Eraserhead was director David Lynch's first feature. It took years to make and debuted to repulsed criticism. However, it has since become a true cult classic. The surrealist film will stun the sleepy filmgoer, it's best to know what you're in for before seeing it. Set in outer space, inside a head, and amongst an industrial city, Eraserhead is a menage of imagery inspired by Lynch's life and dreams. Henry Spencer plays the title character, a man who discovers his girlfriend has given birth to a deformed creature with a snake-like head. The girl leaves him and Henry tries to care for the "baby" himself. Wrapped in bandages, the baby unravels when they're taken off. The movie slips into a realm of Lynch's mind you can only experience, and never understand.
