WordPress

I’ve downloaded the latest “nightly” from WordPress but I’m now sitting here wondering what I might lose if I upgrade. I know I need to backup my database (they do point that out don’t they?) but am I going to loose my smilies and CSS as well? Anyone with experience let me know please.
