Progressing

So it’s been another quiet week. Has it hell as like. I’ve been marching onward and upward. On the Linux front I now have a dual-boot system enabling me to continue to use XP for Internet stuff whilst I sort out the USB ADSL modem problem in Linux. It will also give me time to get to know the system as it is a bit different to XP. I like it though so if I can solve the modem problem my PC can become Microsoft-less. Yeah!!

As for my never-ending addiction for tinkering I have made some changes around the site. First of all I have given my Archives a good dusting off with a new plug-in from Rob Sable by the name of rss_superarchive_bycat. It actually does a lot more than I’m using it for but that’s something for the future maybe. I have to say that I’m particularly pleased with my minimal styling for the new Archive. I think I may have a bit of a theme thing going here. Anyway let me know what you think.

Now here’s something that you might not notice is happening. If you are maybe scanning through the archive and click on an article link or you click on an article link anywhere else so that you arrive at a page with just a single article on it the menu changes. You will get a list of 10 related (by category) articles which you won’t see anywhere else. Keep your eyes peeled!!

I’ve also been able to move my drop-down menu into both Guest Block and the Forum. Helps to keep things in the family a bit more.

It all looks great, Stuart. I don’t remember what the old archive thingie was like (swiss-cheese brain that I am at times).

But as I said earlier, I like that the menus are available on the Forum & Guestblock pages. Mucho conveniento… errr something like that.
