Photo Blog

As some might be aware I’ve been helping to get a couple of web sites set up. www.jameslomax.com has gone live as of today. It is primarily a photo blog but also has a text blog and there are one or two natty little features to watch out for. Apart from having the double blogging facility, keep an eye on the body background colour as you move from photo to photo. This wasn’t my own genius at work but I did manage to get it running. On the other hand just take a good look at that photo archive. Thumbnails with permalinks in a monthly archive! No pop-ups here and yes, that was my genius! And whilst I’m blowing my own trumpet let us not forget that all those lovely photos and some very interesting Words were provided solely by James who was also pretty good at explaining exactly what it was that he wanted. That makes a nice change. Though I say it myself I think it’s one of the best photo blogs I’ve seen for quite a while and has already made it’s way into TXP Magazine. Oh! I should also mention that it wouldn’t have been possible without the multi-talented help of Textpattern.

Bah, that should have read photoblog. Your preview function isn’t idiot proof. :D

No, just spam proof. There’s no PHP yet for idiots.

Nice work. Did you get the reply I sent about your plugin question? What did you do in the end?

Thanks Matthew. I couldn’t get that to work internally so we’ve carried on with the hack. It’s a nice clean, simple hack so it’s really down to him remembering he has it.

Just testing :)

It’s excellent Stuart. Professional but personalised and just nice to spend some time viewing.

In a word – Great!

Thanks shadow. I know you like the visual stuff so I’m honoured. Just to keep everyone on their toes, I happen to know that James is away taking more great photos at the moment, yet a new photo is appearing on his blog each day. Good stuff eh? And no, I’m not putting them in for him!

This ‘swapping over of gravatars’ is a net trick Stuart. Just something you thought of in the wee hours perhaps? :)

Well I had to learn PHP, MySQL, 3 flavours of ASP and the whole of the Old Testament backwards, but you could just use the very first plug-in in my plug-in list if you prefer.
