Peter Mandelson

I think Tony Blair is a smarmy git at the best of times, but at the worst of times he shows utter contempt for the British people he supposedly represents. Am I the only one who remembers that Peter Mandelson has already had to resign from a government post? TWICE!! Now he’s being offered the UK’s “European Commissioner” post. A very well paid job if I’m not mistaken. Tony likes to treat his “friends” but this is going over the top. It makes you wonder how “friendly” he and Peter would have been if Tony hadn’t got married. I agree with the idea of getting Mandelson out of the country but I would prefer it if he was DEPORTED!! Tony seems to think that we have short memories. He and his unethical government are going to come a cropper one day. The sooner the better for me.

Isnt Mandy supposed to be the ideal man for cleaning up corruption in the EU for F sake? What is the matter with these people. Still he is marginally less cerebally challenged than Kinnock.

Marginally? About 5px I'd say. I take it that's "F" for France.

I think he is talented enough for the job - he performed well in Northern Ireland. Plus, for those who don't like him, he's now out of the country.

Well I can't be expected to agree with that. But lets move on. I am just waiting for his third public humiliation and downfall.

I won't deny his talent, though he also seems to have talent in the wrong areas, but it's a bit much when MP's like Blunkett are demanding the resignation of Chief Constables and others demand the resignation of BBC officials, then they go and promote a twice-resigned MP to a very well-paid job that carries a fair bit of power. Smacks of double-speak. :hithead:
