I enjoy working with HTML, XHTML, CSS and designers as a web developer. At home I enjoy listening to music, playing music, reading and food.

New Gallery

I’ve spent the last day or so creating my own gallery within TXP and the result is now known as Albums which is how you will find it in the menu. As far as I can see it is working fine. No javascript or anything so it looks good to me including in IE6 which I have to say seems to be behaving remarkably well just lately. Anyway, with that out of the way I shall now take great pleasure in trying to bludgeon the Forum into a narrow space and see if it begs for mercy or not so if things look a bit odd over there at times you’ll know why.

I’m not sure that I like pop-ups. Furthermore, my mozilla opens a new window which is often far too small for me to read the text; I have to resize the window and scroll the text.
Are you sure that the system cannot me enhanced, somehow?

Hi Luigi. I’ll look into it but I thought you could enable pop-ups on a site-by-site basis with Mozilla so you don’t get automatic ones elsewhere which I don’t use of course. The reason I’m using the pop-up here is because it actually brings up a page which allows me to include the image description. Maybe you could right-click on the link and open it in a tab. Have you enabled tabs? It’s been a while since I moved from Mozilla to FireFox, I can’t remember everything it does. Whilst you are here what version of TXP are you using?

I also use Firefox, and keep on calling it just Mozilla for short.

Although you probably mean something different from what I understand, I would like to make sure that you know this page:

Have you tried it? I did, and it is not bad at all. Also, should the css be disabled or not working for some reason, the html page is still readable and has a layout that makes sense.

I’m using Firefox 1.0.2 and haven’t had problems with the window sizing. Could it be a screen resolution thingiemajigger? I think my monitor is 19” and set at 1280×1024.

Thanks Luigi. I’ll have a look through that. I saw another TXP somewhere explaining how he’d done it. I’ll have to see if I can find it again. I’m just happy to have it inside TXP so I shall just mess about with it now until I’m happy though it will have to wait until after the forum squash.

Jess – I think it’s more to do with browser settings and don’t come here bragging about your 19 incher and your 1280×1024.

:teary-eyes: I wasn’t bragging. Hehe.

Stuart just promise me that the font here is not comic sans MS ? :)

Don’t you like it Root? I have to do at least one unusual thing if I can manage it.

I just forgot one small detail: it’s so nice to browse at you photographs!
Please add more.

When I get a digital Luigi. My AE-1 is just too big to carry around all the time. It’s OK on holiday but otherwise…

Ok. On my side, having worked for years as a professional photographer, and having kept photographic courses, I have a sort of photo-manual ready to go online.
In case I happen to let TXP run…
2 April 2005, 20:45
Have you got it up and running yet?
2 April 2005, 21:10
No, sir.

And it looks something technical. I hate computers, sometimes. Just like cars, when they stop in the middle of the countryside and make “cough cough”. I am always tempted to leave them and get rusty in a corner, and carry on foot.
[Note, once and forever: English not being my mother language, please feel free to edit my post in case it’s not clear or misspelled.]

I missed that bit. You should email me. It’s quicker. Email on the way.

I think Root was referring to the anti-comic sans sentimentality that exists among graphic designers (and perhaps web designers as well?). :P
2 April 2005, 22:05
I like to start trends not follow them Jess. I don’t care what everyone else is doing. Root knows that.
2 April 2005, 22:17
The reason it’s use is frowned upon is because of it’s prevalence. :wink wink:
3 April 2005, 00:37
Exactly! Everybody is going to stop using it for that very reason.
