Naughty Iran?
So Iran wants to wipe Israel off the map. Not a sentiment I agree with but one I do understand. Of course we’ve now had to sit and listen to the condemnation of this statement from all sorts of different countries.
Can I remind you that in 1947 the Israelis wiped Palestine off the map. Where were all these countries back then. Oh yes. That’s right. They all recognised the new “State of Israel” almost immediately. Not a jot came from their lips about Palestine.
The USA and Europe also have a bee in their bonnet over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Maybe I should also remind you that Israel has nuclear weapons and refuses to sign-up to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and has continuously ignored UN resolutions regarding their arsenal. They also refuse to allow UN inspectors in.
Now exactly what is the difference between Israel and Iran that makes people ignore what Israel does and get on the Iranians’ backs for what they do?
Well they are brown and they are Muslim. Yep, that must be it. Nothing like a bit of racist politics from the people who keep telling us NOT to be racist. Tut tut tut.

While I don’t believe we can just ignore the region, perhaps it would be more efficient if the West just pulled out and let the Middle East rebalance itself without interference from outside. When the dust settles we can start over. I think we’ve made a big enough mess of relations there that starting over from the beginning is a viable option.

I fully agree with such a courageous statement which is aiming at the freedom of Palestinian people and the liberty to express our opinions despite the constraining laws of our western countries.

I have a tendency to say what I mean and not what others think I should say. I shall continue to do this regardless of what stupid, undemocratic laws are devised to restrict our freedom. Stuff ‘em! ;)
Iranians are not brown. Iran means land of Aryans (white people) There are people with dark skin like Italians but they are not considered brown.
I won’t disagree with that Keyvan but over here in the racist west they would be considered brown. Anyone who isn’t white and God-fearing Christian just has to be something else. Facts and logic don’t come into it.
