Nasty Potter?
The latest Harry Potter instalment hit the bookshelves today amidst much angst from those who say that it gives children bad moral standards and leads them headlong into witchcraft.
Mmmmm.
Most of these angst-ridden idiots are the religious types who obviously only let their own children, if they have any, read the biblical texts. Now if I remember correctly the bible contains nudity in the garden of Eden, sorcery in the form of Moses parting the Red Sea amongst other magical feats not to mention those miracles from the one and only Jesus. It also contains war, rape, orgies, idol-worship, sacrifice, horror stories like the plagues and rivers of blood, not to mention the odd prostitute or two and murderers, cheats and liars by the dozen. And I know I’ve left a lot out.
That should make good reading for children then! Let’s ban that instead!
I also heard that a school Head Teacher has had to shelve plans for a “wizards and witches” fancy dress day for his pupils to celebrate the release because of complaints from the local vicar and other nosey prudes. When are these people going to grow-up and stop trying to foist their stupidly childish ideas onto other peoples children?
Never probably.

I know long time no type…. Its been hell for me with classes and all??? Anyway, getting on topic here: I live not to far from the store that “by accedent” sold 14 copies before the release date and the “Herry Potter Legal Squad” showed up with piles of paper and law suits up the Ying Yang…. for waht? 14 books. 12 books were returned with promises of rewards and other free stuff. So far, the warning for the other 2 books is that they are not allowed to read them or say anything about the story until today (Sat over allready)...

I’ll be getting back to you by email on that other thing, soon, Stuart. Plate’s kinda full here right now. Will free up soon, hopefully!
Potter is today’s teletubbies, as the tubbies were yesterday’s ninja turtles. It might just be me it probably is, but it’s strange that parents are quicker to point the finger at external influences as being the greatest influence on their children their own parenthood. That’s either bad parenting, or being extremely naive.
Wasn’t Sodom and Gomarrah a romantic comedy?
She said she “isn’t into that stuff” – meaning magic. But LOTR is full of magic too. WTH?
They are a confused people.
