I’ve up-dated to WP 1.2 Mingus with no problem other than having to put the mods back in. I’ve also validated the Blog for XHTML 1.0 and CSS and RSS and found a couple of matching logos. I installed the sidebar a few days ago and feel that it will be extremely useful. I know IE has a sidebar but as I don’t use it I’ve no idea what it’s like but I use Mozilla and the Blog integrates into my sidebar very nicely which should also go for Firefox. So what can you do with it? Well when you open it up it allows you to log into your Blog and make a post. You have the choice of publishing or saving as a draft to edit later. Thing is you can do this wherever you are on the net so if you happen to spot a news item or whatever that you want to Blog on you can do it straight away whilst still having the original item in front of you. This could be particularly useful if you need to copy/paste something into your post or quote verbatim. It’s easy to install. Just go to your "Profile" and you’ll find a button at the bottom of the page. Guess what. Click on it.

Well it don't take long really unless you have a few mods to do like me.
I would emphasise backing up your database before hand then I would also recommend deleting all your existing files before uploading the new ones. You might want to download your current ones to disc. Remember to do your wp-config.php file. Actually I don't think this file has changed. I just saved my current one to disk then re-uploaded it again.
Do delete the new wp-config-sample.php file. Then go to the upgrade file and click the button. You then need to point your index file at your css file and any other changes you might have made. I don't think you have any do you?
