OK lads and lasses. The honeymoon period for Guest Block is over. This is Beta testing. I need you to try and break it. Try flooding it, chuck some spam words at it, swear at it like a trooper. Go on. You know you want to.

It’s not Matthew’s fault. I have to add the words to it’s dictionary and you know more of them than me. You have to consider that this could be used by someone in Japan and I wouldn’t have a clue what the Japanese swear words are and neither would Matthew so the dictionary has to start off blank and get added to by the user. Keep trying. That’s what it’s here for. Go for broke.

Like an innocent child, Guestblock knows only the words you teach it.
When Stuart has built up an extensive words list I’ll look to include it in the default install, assuming that’s ok with Stuart.

I’m not sure what can be done about phrases as they are usually made up of perfectly good words. You have to remember that what we are doing here is abnormal. Usually visitors will just pop in to place a block and leave a message. Swearing will probably only occur when some jerk turns up with nothing better to do. I can delete his/her block and if I don’t know them I can ban their IP address.

No I think there’s only about 6 of us doing Beta testing at the moment. Textpattern is what I replaced WP with. I find it more useful for my site rather than just my Blog. I’m writing up on it. I’m getting timed out on your Blog???

Yep. TXP is rather cool. It’s kind of a blogging tool but could also be viewed as a CMS which means that, apart from the Forum (which you still haven’t joined) and Guest Block I should be able to drag everything else into it. All my pages with menus on them are already in there along with a couple of the full-width pages. Now all you need to do is learn to use Textile. There’s a help button there. And you can preview live before you post your comment. And no, it’s not a plug-in.
Don’t worry about the timed-out thing. If it doesn’t clear in a couple of days I’ll get my ISP to check it out. You seem to have changed the address from what I have in my menu. Not that using the new one seems to make any difference at the moment. Is lilyanddragon.com registered?
