Have a Listen

The recent anniversary for Auschwitz led me to search out a CD I haven’t listened to for a while. I remember that when I bought it, it suddenly became very popular, and was played on radio and TV all the time which kind of turned me off it a bit.

Anyway the reason I searched for this particular CD was because the composer is Polish, was born in 1933 and was raised near Auschwitz. I’ve listened to it several times over the last few days and it is just as heart-rending now as the first time I heard it. This music completely captures the sorrow of the Polish Jews and Auschwitz. Listen to it. All of it.

I couldn’t remember if it was set to blow at 1000 or 10,000. You should listen to it. Can you get it from a library or don’t they do that over there?

It may be available at the library – I’ll have to check. :)

Time was if you went to the library here and they didn’t have it they would get it for you. I don’t think there’s much chance of that today!

Here, if you are interested in books the local library does not have available they will ship them from other libraries (in the participating area). Not sure if music would work in the same way, but I don’t see why not. ;)
