French Wine?

I’ve just found out that the French produce wine. You could have knocked me down with a feather.

I also found out that the French produce undrinkable wine. Now that I can believe.

Joking aside I’m not a great fan of French wine. I think most of it tastes like vinegar. I prefer German varieties myself. Never-the-less the bit about undrinkable wine is a serious point. It is pretty much unfit for human consumption. The farmers that produce this stuff do it in the full knowledge that they will be compensated for it out of the funds allocated to the Common Agricultural Policy.

Whilst stupidities like this continue, Mr. Blare (bless his little white cotton socks) should stick to his guns and not relent on the British rebate. We can be just as stupid as the French and the Germans when we want to be. Of course they won’t see it like that. Bloody foreigners!

While on vacation in Paris I discovered that the French don’t know how to properly cook steak, either. I was stupid enough to try twice.

Did you make sure it was from a cow?
19 June 2005, 11:47
Ahh, but you see it may have been a steak from a mad cow and then that would definitelymake it taste different. They don’t eat grass and hang around in fields making ‘moo’ noises you see. they actually go to the beach and watch out for sharks…

So the steaks will taste differently won’t they? A bit fishy perhaps?

It wasn’t the taste. Well, the steak may have tasted like charcoal since it was quite well done. It was akin to gnawing on unseasoned jerky.

Hello the guy!
Insane cows?
It is a joke?
I believed that the insane cows were English?!

And abour with our wine, frankly it is less worse than what your government sells to you… Ok, you have Olympic Games… but French can nevertheless cook steacks!!!

Welcome Laurent. I think you missed the point. Maybe it’s the ironic way I phrased it. There are some French wines I like but not many. I have a bit of a sweet taste so I tend to prefer German wines. The main point though was that some of your wine-growers grow grapes which produce totally undrinkable wine and they are compensated for it year after year after year. This is stupid and a complete waste of MY money and until silly things like this are stopped we will keep our £3 billion and continue selling you insane cows. OK?

Nice looking site by the way. :)

Yes I know that you want to say and my position is yours… It’s not because I’m french I agree this politic…
I know personnaly some wine-growers and their wine is cool… but others make bad work…
It was just to put a commentary and to make the stupid frenchies…

Gook luck on txp !

French wines are mostly disgusting. The Americans, Aussies, Chileans, and Kiwis have surpassed France in quality, consistency and drinkability! France should simply stop producing altogether. Their best vintages were put into bottles decades ago, and there’s still plenty of that to go around for quite some time now.
