EuroVision

So another year has passed and I sit here denying the fact that I shall no doubt be watching the Eurovision Song Contest from Turkey tonight. We all like to say how totally naf it is but 100s of millions of us watch it across the continent and further afield. I can honestly say that it’s the voting section that I like most and will quite happily miss the first hour or so of this 3 hour marathon. My musical tastes are way too far removed from this stuff to be really interested in the first couple of hours though I do like to listen to Terry’s droll comments on some of the really bad stuff. So there you go. I admit it. I shall be watching at least part of tonight’s transmission.

I read an absolutely fantastic review in the Independent today which sadly I do not have. Her description of the annual Euro antics was hilarious. A truly fine piece of journalism. And no I did not see it. I promise.

I have to report that I got so involved in something on the PC that I completely missed it. I had to listen to the radio news to find out who had won. And I don't know if you know this but there are so many entries these days (36 I think) that they've split the competion into two parts and we only see the last 24. Makes you wonder what the other 12 were like doesn't it? Doesn't it?? Oh well. There's always next year.
