Best Ever?

Well, as promised I now have the “no absolute” layout set up as a test Blog. Please have a look and feel free to comment, here or there, on the style, colours or any problems you may encounter.

Up-date

I’m now using it so I’ve removed the link to the test Blog.

Personal opinion, but I think red, blue and purple is too much in the title "The Bomb Site"... I'd make it purple & blue, but keep the red divide-y bars everywhere else... But that's just me.

Fair enough but I should say there is no purple. It's just red letters with the blue neon. Anything else will be shadow.

Hey Stuart, do you want me to send you a screen-shot of your page as I see it? Things don't seem to be linning up on the menu and the active links are very hard to read with blue on blue. Let me know if you want me to.... I'm taking tomorrow off from work. I'm going to spend some working on my website.

You need to empty your browser cache Tom. The blue you are seeing is no longer there. Your browser is still showing the old menu background image. I had this with someone else earlier.

:shifty: Yup, that did it-cleared the cache--and what'da'y-know' . Are you going to a coloured background for the post? I remeber a lot of Word-Press users don't like the pure white with black text.... I believe it was Max who said that it hurts his eyes...

But you have nice large text and the layout is spaced out well, very easy to read and find what your looking for.

Question: in this case, how did you make the "back to the TOP" link at the bottom fo the page work?

Stu I do not know where to start. In FF the layout is borked. And I can't ctrl F5.
Might be the applet.

@Root - You just like to frighten me don't you? I'm using FF as is eb, and my niece uses it too and had the same problem last night as Tom did. Have you cleared your cache cuz you may still be picking up old graphics (they have the same file names) like the blue menu background or the old logo. Now that my niece and Tom have cleared their caches there's 4 of us that I know of who aren't having problems. This is a normal-type layout not the javascript version. The applet is my visitor counter and that's always been there so it shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't even have trouble the first time I loaded... maybe I set my browser to "never cache".... sounds like something I'd do...

Well done eb. Of course when you have a dial-up like me anything that saves a little time is handy. :boohoo:

Ah. Much better. I can feel a MaxT type *why I hate firefox* article coming on.
All looks cool. Nice.

I think you have had enough "I hate's" for one week.

The new design seems a little plain to me...

Now you're just being funny aren't you? Happy belated birthday. :notworthy:

Thanks for the "Code" Stu. I have no idea who simple that was....:hithead: Funny how a little fix seemed liked a huge deal? That was too simple.... scarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry:shifty:

I'm going "back to the top."

No problem. Just one of those little things you learn along the way.
13 August 2004, 05:43
I just want to say  for adapting all those competition entries :!:

Thankyou. I should say that I'm not going all the way with it in the sense that I'm not producing "menu graphics" to produce the "faux columns" effect. These people have to learn to do something for themselves. They'll never learn otherwise.
