I’ve just been notified that my son Kevin, who is currently at Derby University, is the winner of The Microsoft Award for Best Overall Performance in Stage 1 Computing. For this he gets a certificate and a £100 cheque.

So guess who’s buying the Chinese when he gets back then?

Well done lad!

    Hi Jess.

    Long time no see.

I know! How are you doing these days?

As you may notice, I’m trying out wordpress on my new domain. It’s very different from textpattern – some things I like better, some not so much.

I’m fine thank you. How’s yourself?

    Wordpress? What’s that then?

Hehe. No worries, I also have textpattern uploaded. ;)

I should think so! Note how I have removed everything now except the blog and TXP-related stuff. You should visit my themes or Textgarden and get my admin theme for it. Looks prettier than WP then. :binkybaby:

I’m not fond of wordpress’s admin setup at all. I very much prefer TXP’s (even the default look is better).

I like my current blog theme though (I modified a pre-existing one) – I guess I could try recreating it in TXP

Do you find “jessbaby” a little slow in loading?

Hmm, I just tried and it came up pretty fast. It’s on an older server on ipowerweb though, I think.

It probably won’t be working much longer as it expired in late December (I decided not to renew it).

    It’ll be ickyme.com instead.

OK. I’ll change my links then.

Hi stuart – (it’s a very long time since I posted a comment here!)

How’s that xPattern thing working for you? I’m stalking the forums and have a trial site that will run the xPattern trunks – now I’ve had a fling with WP and Chryp. (But don’t think I’ll be of any help with it.)

Didn’t take long for me to come back to TxP though…

Hi David. I have a test install for xPattern but it is early days yet so there aren’t any big differences unless you want to try some of the individual trunks where people are working on different things.

I haven’t thought about trying something else for probably 3 years or so.

I did try one of the individuals, but it wasn’t pretty!

However, we shall wait and see..
