Election?
So we have riots in Greece? I cannot condone the loss of life but who the hell can blame them? The people of Greece are due to suffer because of a lack of judgement of their governments combined with the havoc reeked by a few people with nothing more than greed in their minds. The bankers still think they have the day. They continue to pay themselves outrageous and immorally high bonuses as though all was right in the world and they had done nothing wrong.
Apparently the Brown government considered bringing in more regulation to govern banks’ behaviour but the bankers didn’t like the idea [...]
High Definition Apollo Launch
I have watched Apollo launches before, both live and in special TV programmes but this video is just phenomenal. It is a 30 second, real-time sequence recorded at 500 frames per second which stretches it out to around 8 minutes. The camera is pointing at the engines.
Lording About
There is a man in this current government who, without beating about the bush, I wholly dislike. He seems to have little moral or ethical backbone. He has held posts in the previous “Blair” governments and holds a post in the current “Brown” government.
Whilst holding the post of Trade Secretary he was forced to resign in 1998 over a scandal involving a £337,000 loan to the then Paymaster General Geoffrey Robinson, who also resigned.
Stupidity
I was thinking stuff, as is my want from time to time, and came up with this little quandary.
Smoking. Everyone knows it’s bad for you. It’s bad for your health, causes various diseases and is likely to end your life before your true time is due. Smokers know this as well but they turn their heads away and continue to live their lives in the manner to which they have become accustomed, ignoring the obvious consequences of doing this. Stupid aren’t they?
